The Highway 48 is a considerably long stretch of road that heads northward and southward. Southward, it goes right to the shores of Lake Ontario in Scarborough, where it meets Kingston Road (which itself stretches across a decently large portion of the lakeshore, even becoming downtown Toronto¿s own Lake Shore Boulevard upon reaching the city¿s border). Northward, the Highway 48 curves eastward near the shores of Lake Simcoe (watersports and beaches aplenty!) and meets the Highway 12, which can actually take you all the way up towards Orillia at Lake Simcoe¿s northern end. Between all of this transportation and all of the amenities you can have access to, there really is nothing you could want for when living in the fantastic urban/rural blend that is Whitchurch-Stouffville. You even have the phenomenal capability of having access to southern Ontario¿s largest highways thanks to the Highway 48 (them being the Highway 401, Highway 407 (a toll highway), and the Highway 404 (which is the Don Valley Parkway in downtown Toronto)).
